It doesn't.........I don't why it would ever make you sleepy, because it has never made me sleep. Quite the opposite. That is not true. I have the same problem. I am on 20mg Aderrall XR and it makes me very sleepy and sluggish I was prescribed Ritalin 10 mg last month and every time I took one in the morning I got really tired and sleepy. It made me so tired that I couldn't fight the urge to sleep and would just give in and sleep a few hours. I told my doctor about this and he said that the sleepiness just confirms that I have ADHD. He prescribed me adderall 10mg XR the other day because the Ritalin was bothering my stomach and I took it for the first time this morning (after getting 8 hours of sleep) and I fell back asleep an hour after and just woke up 7 hours later! My doctor had told me this would make me sleepy too. Guess he was right.
