You got to take it one at a time, do not be in a hurry and do not go slow. If you don't ask him out, someone else will. So, now is your time. I just hope you the best because there is nothing else I can say. Do this when YOU feel comfortable.

Take it slow. Just try to find some stuff about him from his friends. If you are worried, just tell a friend you trust and they can help you. If he says hi to you without you talking to him, tell him you like him and then ask him if he wants to be friends. Hopefully he will take it ok! If he doesnt notice you, just be his friend, share his passions, etc. Then, once you get REALLY close to him and you are like best friends and you feel ready, just ask him if he wants to be more than friends! If he says yes, congratulations, keep it up! If not, there are PLENTY more fish in the sea! And also if he doesnt, just ask him if he wants to still be friends.
