* Your friends are just as confused as you are and because of their age they are immature and uninformed regarding gender issues. There is no reason you cannot have girlfriends and male friends. In time, you will know what gender you are and gender confusion at a young age is not that uncommon. Not so long ago girls such as yourself were called, 'Tom Boys' meaning that they were less feminine than other girls, but it did not mean they were going to end up becoming a male gender.

2 completely different terms gender confusion refers to when someone's sex doesn't match their gender usually referring to the period of time when someone feels uncomfortable with themselves (btw sex is your physical characteristics gender is your psychological and emotional characteristics) sexual orientation what gender or genders you are attracted to in relation to your gender (eg. a male attracted to a male is gay a female attracted to a female is lesbian...)
