If you can get at it, disconnect your battery and go for it, Basicaly the same procedure but with a serpentine belt and auto tensioner i presume.
The alternator is below pipework and fittings and will take a long time to remove - according to my mechanic. Going to do it myself even though it will take me even longer!
It is on the front of the intake it has three wires coming out of it done had to replace 1 myself the water pump is right below it
I just had to replace my alternator and the battery light was coming on when I had slow engine speed (under 1000RPM)...It gave me little warning and completely failed after 20 miles, then the battery went dead and , of course, the engine stopped... Replace the Alternator before you get stranded as what happened to myself... check the connectors and wires first. make sure their clean and tight. if beltis tight it should be ok. have alternator tested.
I want to replace the co2 sensor in my crv myself is it something I can do?
It will seem like it is your battery. It may start at first but eventually will die and you will attempt to use jumper cables to restart it but as soon as you disconnect the cables it will die again. The only fix is to replace the alternator , when i replaced the one in my truck i did it myself for about 140.00 If this helped please recommend :>)
How do I replace my stock handgrips myself on my 2006 Fatboy?
raise hood and then jerk out your pistol ,take a general aim and then calmly empty the clip into that piece of turd. i have one myself and all i do is work on the junky motherflipper. so when you get started put one in the prick from me.
Most likely, what are you replacing?
yes
The alternator on my 1990 MPV failed and I tried to renew it myself, it seemed like a pretty simple task as the alternator is easily accessed. When I loosened the belt and removed the mounting bolts I found that the alternator will not slide off the mounting bar as it is blocked (just barely enough) by the power steering unit. I did not want to remove that unit so I simply put it all back and paid a local Chevrolet dealership the $65 dollars and I am good to go. It is simply to much to do without a lift.
i have a 96 rs myself ive been told in the neighborhood of 240-250?
Just replaced it myself you gota take the alternator off loosen two bolts that hold the tensioner on and pull it out.Don't loosen any bolts on the powersteering under the tensioner.Remember to disconnect the battery first.
