Well....... this isn't true. A fixed wing aircraft would stall once it the airspeed dips below the stall speed. (Note: In this case....not stall like your car engine but and aerodynamic stall {the wings}) It appears to be standing still but it isn't.

Number one-is was going EXTREMELY slow and it had to be a good distance away from you for you to be able to come it with this perception.

Only Rotary winged aircraft could actually stand still in the air (Hoovering) or one that has VTOL capabilities like the harrier jump jet.
