yes, the hamster could be pregnant.
First you must have: Two empty hamster cages A female hamster A male hamster A cardboard box Between the ages of about 4 and 12 months, your female hamster will have a 'day' every 4 days. When this happens she will go stiff and stick her tail in the air. If you want your hamster to be pregnant (she must be over the age of 4 months) put her in the cardboard box and let her get used to it. After a few minutes, put in your male hamster. The male hamster will probably go up to your female and try to clean her before clinging to her. If this doesn't happen wait a few minutes but if they are fighting take the hamsters out and try again some other day. If they start mating, leave them in there for half a hour or until your male loses interest in the female. Then put your hamsters back in its cage. You should be very careful when handling your female if you think she might be pregnant. Hamsters are pregnant for 16 days, then they give birth to 4 - 16 babies. When she has been pregnant for 10 days move your hamster to a cage without wide bars so the babies cannot escape when they are born. Stop handling her and leave her alone, she will build a nest. Give her cheese. Give her more cheese. The babies are very cute but don't touch them until they are 3 weeks old! Or the mummy might eat them! Sounds weird but my hamsters have eaten their babies sometimes because they think it won't survive :-( For more information email me: 7kierra7@gmail.com. Kierra :-)
No, your hamster will surely die in the next 4 minutes. that's a shame! depends what you call fast i have gerbils they are like hamsters and they breathe twice as fast as me and they are totally fine.
You can put a hamster in the ball as much as you want. The average time you want your hamster in there for exercise is about 15 minutes, but my hamster loves it so much that he goes in for 30. It all depends on the type of hamsters and how athletic they are! hope this helps
it depends on how fat the hamster is, and where its running. like if its trying to run on water and its overweight, its not going to run very fast. (i know this a pretty dumb answer glad i could help :D )
Yes. Because hamsters need playtime and exercise from their owners every day! Just like dogs and any other pet. Try to play with you hamster at least for 10 minutes everyday.
yes! its very good exersize for all hamsters and good physical therpy if the hamster is stressed out about moving to a new home....also a hamster wheel works wonders just make sure of 2 things..... 1. make sure that the wheel is solid and no bars. 2. make sure at night the cage is away for you since hamsters are nocturnal. well hope this information helps you bye.... .
A female hamster shouldn't even be in the same cage as a male hamster, unless you are trying to breed them.If they are together the male will naturally try to mate with her,it doesn't matter to him that she might not be in heat. If a female isn't in heat she will attack any male that is in the cage with her. Also if you are putting 2 hamsters together with the intention of breeding you should always hand breed. Hand breeding is when you wait until the female is in heat and you put her and the male in neutal territory. Always wear gloves and have a ruler handy so that if need be you can separate them from fighting, although this rarly happens. After they actually start to mate supervise them for 40 minutes and then put both back in their own cages.Approximately 16 days later you should have babies. They don't.
Syrian hamsters are great for first time owners, children and many more including the elderly they are easy to handle, train and even teach them not to be nocturnal (this does take time slowly taking your hamster out 15-30 minutes earlier each night.)
Yes, depending on your cage but your hamster may find a way out and run away. If your cage has a mesh metal then your hamster may be able to fit through but usually not. My hamster is always trying to escape. I solve this by putting her in her ball to run around the room for up to 40 minutes. Afterwords she is usually tired and will take a nap.
Unfortunately Yes. They do ''poop'' when they are handled. It is very normal. My dwarf hamster always poops on me :)
No, after my hamster had her first baby, I thought there was no more, but after 3 minutes another baby came out, then they all started coming out with only intervals of a couple seconds.
yes my hamster runs for about 20-25 minutes every day
