It depends what type of extensions you have, and how the extensions are wired. Most home extensions are split from one master socket. Unfortunately, this means anyone can pick up another extension and eavesdrop on a conversation. The only way round it would be to replace the whole system with a digital one. Digital handsets are more secure, and isolate the call from the other extensions.
