I was diagnoed with a herniated disk a few years ago. I thought it heals itself in a few months. Why does my back and leg still hurt?

I also had a herniated disk. It depends on the severness i have had two surgerys since 06 one with screws and one removing them. it is important to have it seen! you could very well have a pinched nerve. wich i had also causing horrible leg and extra lower Back pain.

Two years ago, I went through the same thing. I ended up have a back specialist go in and scrap off the part that was herniated. The surgery was two hours and I walked out of the hospital four hours later. The recovery time was three months. After that, I watch how I lift and turn, and have had no problems.
