It no longer exists. I had it there in the late 80s. I suspect that the "Tok" that they have now is similar. It wasn't super strong, so I suspect that the white wine base in "Tok" is the closest. A soju base would be too strong. I plan to try brewing it myself and see if I come close.
Oscar is an alcoholic drink that I do believe is only known in Korea. It is not very well known outside of service members, that have been to Korea. When I was in the US Navy I remember walking down Texas street drinking a bottle of Oscar between each bar that I went to.
I woke up many Sunday mornings with a Saturday night Oscar hangover. It was a sparkling wine, not a mix.
Yes in 1978 I was involved with training exercise called team spirit Marines and Army we had liberty in Seoul everyone drank this drink called Oscar it was like drinking soda pop I haven't seen it in years does it still exist
I remember that drink and cannot locate it in the Korean grocery stores. But, Ginro comes in a variety of bottles
I was also stationed in South Korea and drank all three flavors at some point but cannot find it now. Its not listed anywhere.
