Common language; common heritage (for the English descendants); common laws; mutual dependence on open free world trade; similar business types (i.e. corporations that were first developed in Holland then used in England) has become a major influence in business development & advancement; England was America's largest trading partner for most of America's history; military cooperation in China's Boxer Rebellion, World War One, World War Two, the Korean War, the Cold War & NATO, the war on terror, the two Persian Gulf Wars, the British military expedition to retake the Falklands Islands from Argentina, etc.; there is also a very extensive connection in the common culture, based on the common language, such as in books, news, radio, TV, movies, music, etc. The economic & military components of the relationship have endured since 1939. FDR & Churchill were instrumental in establishing or strengthening these ties then.
