It should have a big label on the top of the engine, most common being a 3.4 V6 marked as 3400
Yes, I know how to tell the size of the motor. What I was asking was I've been told that there is 2 different models of the 3400. They ask if the Vin. # has a "K" in it or a "L" is what I'm seeing on the internet as I'm looking up used motors to by for my Van. I don't know what the difference is between the 2 motors when they are the same size. It can't be manual or automatic? because they use the same motor to bolt on to either one of those transmissions when there going down the Assembly line. But I don't know why they tell you, you must check the Vin code for either of those 2 letters so you can know which motor you need. Even if I give them the number what makings are on there motor that is going to identify my "L" or "K" to that motor?

Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1998 Chevy Lumina heater motor. Remove the heater motor retaining bolts. Remove the fan from the front of the heater motor. Reverse the process to install the new heater.
