It is worth reading the diagnostic codes to point you in the right direction. However, the IAC (Idle Air control valve) is a common failure and most likely culprit. Try giving it a tap to see if it reseats. It often fails in tandem with the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Remove the intake tube and check the Throttle Body (TB) plates. Make sure one is closed and the other is partially open, just a little. The throttle cables can get sticky and the TB can get an air leak from the TB to manifold gasket. Worth checking the vacuum lines and connectors for leaks. There is a T piece on the vacuum line at the back of the TB is very prone to it. High idle can also be an indication of a brake booster starting to fail. If changing the IAC replace any gaskets removed with new. If cleaning the TB make sure to use an approved cleaner. The wrong stuff will kill it.
