If Firestar had not come to ThunderClan would Sandstorm have been Dustpelt's mate?

If Firestar didn't save Sandpaw from falling of the gorge, she would die. Then they will never be mates, like Spottedleaf and Firestar. If she didn't die, she would get seriously injured like Brightheart.

It's possible, as Dustpelt had feelings for Sandstorm before Firestar arrived. However, the course of their relationship would have been different without Firestar's influence on ThunderClan dynamics.

But how could they be mates? They're brother and sister and in the Warriors books, the cats who are brother and sister don't mate, that I know of so far. Leafstorm
They weren't brother and sister, though many people thought they were for some reason. It even says that they aren't on the official Warriors website's Ask Erin Hunter page and the family tree page (See Related Links Below): Was Dustpelt Sandstorm's brother? It seems like they would be or Sandstorm would have probably never fallen in love with Firestar.

No, Dustpelt isn't Sandstorm's brother. He was very close to her when they were apprentices, and if Firestar hadn't joined the Clan they might have ended up as mates, but as time went on Sandstorm found she was more attracted to Firestar so she and Dustpelt drifted apart. Now Dustpelt is blissfully happy with Ferncloud, so I don't think he minds!
Heres what I got the impression of: Dust likes Sand. Sand likes Dust as a friend. Sand likes Fire as a friend. Dust hates Fire. Sand grows apart from Dust. Fire likes Sand. Sand likes Fire. Sand and Fire make babies. <3
(Bwhitson here) Well Sandstorm and Dustpelt are related...not brother and sister Brindleface is sandstorms mother is brindleface now dustpelt loves ferncloud is also Brindleface's kit so dustpelt loved and love two of his neices...in the wrong way..

No, they would have been mates (probility) and firestar may have been mates with spottedleaf instead of sandstorm. if it werent for firestars loylalty sandstorm would have been dustpelts mate.

I don't like Graystripe as much now since Silverstram died and he became so sensitive, when Graypaw was funny and cute!hmmmmmm I like Leafpool but on that list it would be Sandstorm

"Firepaw dragged him self to his nest, barley able to stand. He colsped in his bed of leaves. His eyes wanderd for a moment. Sandpaw opened one eye and stood quietly. She stumbled carefully and layed beside Firepaw where she closed her eyes. Dustpaw glared at Firepaw, staring sadley at Sandpaw and curled himself into a ball on the cold winter night." So, i suspect he loved her, but don't feel bad. He's had plenty of healthy kits with Ferncloud! :) THEY HAD 9 I THINK

I think it was a good choice because when Spottedleaf died Fireheart was heart broken. He soon discovered that Sandstorm could be a good friend if she wanted to be and they grew closer and closer until they became mates and had kits. He needed a couple good friends at the time to help him through everything and discovered Sandstorm. They are also well-matched in personality as well as age. Yes I agree but also I think Sandstorm had always liked Firestar from the start but she was afraid Dustpelt would make fun of her if she was nice to Firestar . I think she started liking Firestar after he saved her life
