He has provided the ultimate gift of love; He sent His Son to pay for our sins by His death on the cross and to rise in triumph over death. Though we deserve eternal damnation, if we trust in Christ's sacrifice for us, we are assured eternal life with him in heaven.
The apostle John wrote that those who trust in Christ "may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. " 1 John 5:13
assuming that God exists i would say, if people are capable of it, then so is a divine being. of course this also means that he is capable of great hate too. course the Bible proves that.
If you assume that a god exists, then you can assume anything about that god that you wish to. There's no evidence for the existence of any god, but if any do exist, then I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to have feelings. Love have different meanings in various concepts. By providing a God with feelings is to make the being part of our world which is not possible. In addition, sadists perform their atrocious duties out of pleasurable-love.

Is it okay the love someone who does not exist?
There are people in the world that believe god does not exist and others who claim they love him/her/it. So if you do you have plenty of company.

its all because of God. He desired man and woman to be together and have a passionate love for each other.
