According to The Bible, the disasters and suffering here on earth are the result of satan's rulership and mankind trying to run his life without God's help.. 1 John 5:19

God has allowed the suffering on earth for a time period, to settle a very important issue, but will soon bring an end to it, and bring in a brand new system, under his Kingdom rule.

There is a really good book available on line, or in hard copy, called 'What does the Bible really teach', that will answer this and MANY more Bible questions in detail, with many many scriptural references, in a number of different languages. It's totally free and open for anyone to read. You can find it at:

Prevention is better than Cure Could this proverb relate to Natural Calamities?

I think I get what you are asking. If we can prevent natural disasters. When it comes down to it we can't a lot of people seem to think we can do things to tame or alter nature but, nature is just nature. We can't prevent things such a wildfires and tornadoes and floods and hurricanes and all the other natural disasters. The best we can do is learn about all these disasters and try to save the most lives we can. We can't prevent it but, we can try to save ourselves from them.
