If I didn't make it into a class that I wanted because I got a B plus instead of an A in a previous class and want to ask the teacher what should I say in a email to let me join the class?

Hello, I am 69 years old and the B+ that I earned previously in 1966 would
definitely be an A in 2013 grading system.
