To match they'd have to be the same, but really noone can see more than one door at a time.It shouldn't be that big a deal.
I paint interior doors to match the trim, but everyone has their own ideas.
you have to match them up with the door
Yes, as long as the years match with compatible year tops.Window sections can be purchased to match the top you are using, try Bestop.
No. you can however re-key the door and glove box locks to match the ignition. Alternatively a lock smith may be able to re-key the new ignition lock to match the old key. If you are really handy and have access to new pins, you may be able to re-key it yourself. But if you don't have a basic knowledge of how locks work and are assembled, or if you don't have a backup plan - leave it to the pros.
A lock smith should be able to.
u get the combination(3 #s) and do the combo. First turn right and match the number, then turn left twice and match the number, and then turn right and match the number. Then the lock should open. Hope this helps!
I have seen these on eBay for real cheap. I own a 90 Passat and have had to do lots to the doors locks but not change the handle. You'll have to start from the inside first, remove the door panel which only has 2-3 screws on each side. If you order one on ebay, or wherever, the unit should include further instructions. Remember that your key will not match doing it this way. If you want the key to match you need to contact a locksmith. Not knowing exactly why you need to do this a locksmith may be your best bet as they will match all the doors to one key or your existing key.
Locksmith should be able to do this
Sliding doors are not appropriate for every home. They may not match the decor of all homes and they require a lot of space that not all homes have.
Yes, the doors and windshield interchange as follows: 1984-1991 windshield interchangeable. 1984-1987 2 door LWB doors interchangeable 1984-1987 4 door doors interchangeable 1988-1991 4 door doors interchangeable 1989 SWB 2-door doors interchangeable with 1988-1991 4-door front doors and rear barn doors. note: pre-1988 4-door doors will fit 1988+ mostly, but the lock mechanism has a different retaining hole. but the newer locks can be re-keyed to match the older keys, and vice versa. you just can't put the whole lock from one into the other. There were also 5 distinct hinge redesigns which make door fitment slightly different with different years - for example the hinges from a 1986 would swing the doors too wide on a 1991 and allow little kinks from the interfering sheet metal.
You match the rings with the bolts. Look carefully at the bolts, there is an inside and outside color... dark or light. If the bolt in the corresponding color is dark on the inside and dark on the outside, then tap the ring on the door until it looks the same as the bolt. Do this with all four bolt-ring combinations, and the doors will open. Just in case it is hard to tell: Upper left bolt is Dark-inside, Dark outside Upper right is Light-inside, Light outside Lower left is Light-inside, Dark outside Lower Right is Dark-inside, Light outside.
