It is incorrect to respond "nada" because the question does not mean "What's up?" literally. The meaning is more like "How's it going?" or "How are you?" So the answer is most often, "bien". If you answer "mal" you are sort of obligated to explain why you said that.

Resubmitting the question can solve the problem of the computer losing the answer to an Italian translation question. Nothing supposedly gets lost on computers even though not everything seems to get found during trouble-shooting.
