Perhaps never, or at least for a long time. The Conservative party who currently have a poll lead are opposed to getting the Euro. It is also depends on what you mean by the United Kingdom. It is quite possible that Scotland will become independent at the next general election in 2010 and would almost certainly then want to join the Euro. So looking into the future, Scotland will likely apply to join the Euro in 2010, Wales in 2015, Northern Ireland in 2020 and the rest of England, excluding the City of London and the Home Counties, in 2025.
