Let C1=0.05F

& C2=0.025F, C1 & C2 are in series

Let the equivalent capacitance will be C

than 1/C = 1/C1 + 1/C2

1/C = 1/0.05 + 1/0.025 = 20 + 40 = 60F

hence C= 1/60 = 0.0166667 F

Capacitors in parallel simply add, just like resistors in series add.
