The mother should notify family services.
It is very rare that a Mother wants to give full custody of a child to the Father. To this all a Mother would have to do is choose to sign and give up her rights to the child in court.
Father must petition for custody and court will weigh what situation is best for the child
No. If the mother is unmarried then she has legal custody of her child automatically. At 18, people are usually legally considered to be adults and they can do whatever they like as long as it's legal. If the child wants to see the father, the mother can't do much about it. She can make it difficult (if the child lives at home) by getting a restraining order, but that won't stop the child from meeting him somewhere else away from the mother.
do a mixed name then!
Mother files motion for custody
The only way would be to do a personal agreement between the mother & father, ideally having it filed with the court. However, at any time, either parent can utilize Child Support without the other parent's consent. If the Mother spends more time with the child than the Father, she is most likely entitled to child support.
Get over it..the kid doesnt want you!
if the father has custody over the child then yes. I have a step father that i wish was my real father but i have to see my real father twice a year

Yes,the dead beat is expected to pay up.
Yes. see linksAns 2.The father has the option to waive his rights if he wants to, and if he can convince the judge that he is sane, sober and not under coercion as he does so.This has nothing at all to do with child support, which is not his right, but his responsibility. In general the mother can't waive child support either, because support is her child's right, not hers.THAT IS CORRECT.....unless the child's mother has re-married and her husband wants to adopt this child, that would release the biological father from paying child support.
