I would imaging that it would. A collection is a collection, reguardles if it is becasue you refuse to pay it or you want to pay, but you can't. You may be able to work with the collection company to get a payment plan started and have them upadte it to "Paying as agreed"

How can you mend your credit after a paid collection?

Only the credit bureaus the collection agency can remove a collection from your credit report. The collection agency won't do it now since it is paid and they have no reason to. You can dispute it to the credit bureaus and ask for verification on the account. They will have 30 days to verify the items or it must be removed from your credit report.

Is it true a collection of less than fifty dollars will effect your credit score dramatically even if this was the only collection?

The amount of a collection account is not what impacts a consumer's credit score. The impact comes from when the account is updated/last reported on the bureaus. The reason is that 35% of the score is factored from "History", meaning what has taken place in the past. (In the simplest terms, your credit report is a history of how you have managed debts in the past.) There is specific emphasis on items dated in the last 12 months. So, any derogatory item (even an old collection account) that is updated to within the past year will have a huge affect on your score. It also does not matter whether a collection account is paid. A paid or settled derogatory item is still a derogatory and will cause deductions to your score for the 7 years it is allowed by law to appear on your credit. If the account does not get updated, its' impact will lessen as it ages. If, on the other hand, the collection agency keeps it updated, it can impact your credit score for a full 7 years.

Can a collection agency freeze your bank account in NC?

No, it is illegal for a collection agency to garnish or freeze your account for any reason. The only way your account can be garnishes is if you owe taxes or child support. If a collection agency threatens to do this, tell them that you are aware of the Credit Reporting Laws on this matter (there is legal ground for this matter).

Does your personal credit score affect your business credit score?

If your personal credit is tied to your business credit, you run the risk of having your personal credit affect your business credit. When, establishing a business, it may seem easier to use your personal credit to get loans, but this could increase your personal risk should the business fail or undergo financial strife. For this reason, it is beneficial to register your business as a completely separate entity from your personal credit. One of the best ways to do this is by registering to receive a D&B D-U-N-S® Number for your company.

Is it legal for a car dealership to run your credit without your approval I did not provide them my SS number I have no idea how they got it?

There are two different types of credit inquiries. One is when you request that a potential creditor run your credit in order to obtain some type of credit offer. This type requires you to approve the credit check and may ultimately affect your credit score. The second is a general review that many larger credit offering organizations pay to have access to. This type is the kind that you do not have to approve and do not affect your credit score. I would figure out which type the company performed. If it was the first type, you have reason to contact the credit reporting bureau to begin an investigation at no charge.

Can a collection agency report the same collection account under 2 different account numbers on your credit report?

Yes actually they sell the account to differant collectors and will continue to blemish your rating until it is paid in full/ settlement or you request the item to be removed for lack of authenticityAnswerSorry, a single account cannot be sold to multiple collectors at the same time. Sometimes a collector will update an account making it seem that the account is active, and the reporting data is in error, such as transposed numbers, or even the number of someone else's account. Regardless the reason, it should be brought to the attention of the credit bureau(s) and if found invalid, should be expunged.

What is the reason for the credit card service not being allowed?

If you filed Chapter 7 six years ago and it was dismissed but the credit bureaus will not take it off how do you get it removed?

A CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY TAKES 10 YEARS BEFORE THIS IS REMOVED OFF OF YOUR CREDIT REPORT. THE GOOD NEWS THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR CREDIT ANY LONGER! *********************I filed Chapter 7 in 2003 and depending on what your state court's definition of "dismissed" is it CAN affect your credit. For instance, some courts definition of "dismissed" is the same as "discharged." In Ohio it is "discharged" and I no longer owe any debt, however it DID IN FACT AFFECT MY CREDIT. I can NO LONGER get any. I received denial letters stating the reason for being denied, "Bankruptcy." So do your homework according to your state.
