Presuming you mean GOG and not Bankrupt. Although timing in either case is the key (and of course the purchase was on the card). You should protest the charge to the Credit Card Co ASAP. If the co went out of business very recently, the Cr Card company will probably be able to do so. They may ask for proof of what you are owed and copies of letters or your attempts to collect. (Presuming your acting within their return period, provide something that shows that too). If they went bankrupt, AFTER you made the purchase, it gets more complicated and it is possible you will have to file a "proof of claim" with the Bankrutpcy court and wait for their decision.

You should be able to get a refund by calling the company and explain your situation. Usually you will be given a tag number and instructions on how to return the merchandise in order to receive a refund.
No.
Yes - the refund is an asset - which the card company can use to offset your debt !
You have 60 days to file a dispute with the credit card company. Call the company who owes you money and tell them they have 48 hours to refund your money or you will do a "chargeback." Companies hate that word because it is like a bounced check, they get charged a $25 fee (varies from state to state). If they do not refund your money, call your credit card company and tell them you want to dispute a charge on your credit account.
Refunds are commonly returned to customers in the same method that the customer paid for the merchandise. If one paid with a credit card, then a credit is added to the credit card. If a customer does not have a receipt, the refund is usually issued as a store credit.
If you bought a vehicle history report, then you can't get a refund. If you never bought it, contact your credit card company, tell them that is was an unauthorized charge, and ask them to reverse it.

Many credit card companies have in their terms that they have the right to take 3 to 4 weeks to credit your account with a refunded amount. You cannon earn interest from a credit card if you have a positive credit account. The bank will simply give you a refund if you have overpaid.
If an account is overpaid, the creditor may wait 30-60-90 to issue a refund. This is done so that a refund is not issued to a closed account that may have charges pending.
