If a cop takes me to detox and doesn't tell me that I am getting an MIP until I find the ticket in my possessions the next day when released from detox can my charges be dropped?

Unlikely. Any charge can be dropped, but the officer could simply say you were too intoxicated to remember.

If the fight was caused by you getting into the persons face causing them to believe that if they didn't strike you that they were going to be in imminent danger then yes the charges may stick or they may be amended to something else. If the strike was unprovoked, then typically the case will be dropped.
