Your credit score is 563 and you just paid off 4 collection charges on your credit report how will that effect your credit score?

Not much other than having the collection marked from unpaid to paid. If you are paying off credit collection companies, negotiate to get a letter from them telling you that the amount you are paying is the balance as agreed and that they will remove it from your credit report. Do not pay until you get that letter. If you pay without doing that, it will stay on your credit report for about 3 years depending on when the collection was first put on your credit report. The fact that you paid it already just says on your credit report that instead of unpaid the collection is marked as paid. If you already paid either repair your credit or get a reputable firm in the BBB who has a money-back guaranteed policy.

If your credit card account was charged off and sold to a collection agency should the credit card company report it as being paid satisfactory or a collection charge off?

Having your credit card or any other account 'charged off' or reported as a 'collection' means that your balence had not been paid satifactory up until that point. If you pay these derogatory accounts after they have been charged off or reported as a collection account, and one should always pay them off, then the company should report the new status to the credit bureaus. (this is something you should keep your eye on to make sure they are following protocal). This however, will not remove the fact that they were charged off or in collection at some point. It will simply show the charge off/ collection as being paid in full. With that being said, once the C/O or Collec. accounts are paid, they will still have a negative effect on your credit score for quite sometime, but will have a much lesser effect than having not been paid off. Also, if a derogatory account is not paid, often the company will report the charge off or collection multiple times for years to come. Each reporting will negativly effect your score and in turn, continue to bring your score down. Contacting the companies that are reporting you to the bureaus, either before they go into collections or after, is always a good idea to keep them from pursuing further action against you.

If a collection account has been removed from credit report will it get effected by the 'last activity date' if a person pays the balance off?

It may. There is no way to tell what the repercussions will be. If the company (assuming that it is a collection agency and not the original creditor) is willing to take your payment and not update the now non-existant credit listing, then it may have no effect, except to clear your conscience. If it is an original creditor, like a credit card company; their processes of reporting and updating bureaus are so fragmented and automated, they may not be aware of, or able to control, the reporting of information to the bureaus. A paid collection with a recently reported date MAY find its way back onto your credit and impact your credit scores. Technically, the date the account was paid is NOT the date of last activity. However, this error is a common occurence and may happen in your case.

How does consolidation company effect my credit?

When you hire a consolidation company to help you with your debt, you are basically telling the other creditors that you can not pay the minimum due and that you have to lower the interest rate. You will have a low credit rating on your report and if you want to apply for new credit, you can't.

How will it effect your credit score if you pay your mortgage car and credit cards on time but are sometimes late with your utilities?

You need to find out and tell us whether or not your utility company(s) report to the credit bureaus. Some do normally, others only report when you pay late, others only report when you get turned over to collection, others never report. There is no way to know which category your specific utility companies fall into.
