If it is constant...Yes, that means they are sick. I agree with the first answer, however most people believe that if the dog has a wet nose it's a sign of a healthy dog. when the dogs nose looks very dry then it is believed to be a sign that the dog is off colour. If unsure it is probably better to get advice from a veterinarian.

No - unless it's persistent and your dog shows signs of illness or distress. Dogs can get a dry nose in the same way humans can have a dry mouth or dry skin. Living in a centrally-heated environment and getting insufficient exercise isn't good for us, so why should it be good for them?

Hey, well i think nothing is wrong with it. I'm not a doctor, but that's what I think. Did you give it water lately? It might be dehydrated. Sorry if it is wrong. I would ask a Vet.

Maybe, dogs just lick their noses... If they stop they might be sick and might not.

I had a dog that never licked her nose but was perfectly fine.

no, it''s perfectly normal. a dogs' nose should be nice and moist, indicating that it is healthy. a dog with a dry nose is like a human having dry lips or something.

Your dogs nose is dry and flakey?

A dog's nose that is dry and flaky could be a sign of allergies, or sensitivity to something in the dogs surroundings. A vet will be able to determine what is bothering the dog.

Why is your dog's nose so dry?

Usually when a dog has a moist noise it means they are healthy. If he has a dry nose that might mean he is unhealthy or sick. But this is not in all cases. Dog's noses are wet because of the tear glandes that empty from their nose, so don't freak out if it is dry. If the weather is dry than your dog's nose may be dry. It could be that. If you are still worried you should consult your vet. He/she is your best answer.

What does it mean if your dog does not want to play and her nose is dry?

This is a bad sign, you need to take her to a vet immediately. If her nose is frequently dry she is either de-hydrated or something is very wrong.

Why are dogs noses always wet?

When they pant they get a wet nose, when they have a drink or lick their nose it gets wet. There is the old myth that if a dog's nose is dry it is sick I have one thing to say about this, FALSE! If a dog's nose is dry they are healthy don't worry if it is dry.

My dog is not drinking or eating has a dry nose feels very warm and has labored breathing what could be wrong?

The dog is ill, take him to the vet. It could be he's sick. Could he's not hungry or thirsty. Could be a worm of some type. I'd check with a vet to make sure he's okay.

What does it mean if a dog's nose is cold and dry?

This means the dog is healthy it should also feel slightly wet, If a dog nose is dry/crusty that could mean it is a bit off and if it is runny (and not nasty cold weather) this could also mean it is a bit ill- hope this helps,

What is wrong if the dogs nose is hot then you put it outside and it gets cold again?

A dog's nose should be cold. It can temporarily feel warm if kept in a hot dry house / apartment. The nose and ears can stay hot when the dog is sick.

Why does a dachshund get a dry nose?

The wetness and temperature of a dog's nose (of any breed) can change throughout the day, and that is perfectly normal. Dogs have wet noses because some of their tear glands empty into their noses. But if their nose is dry, that does not mean there is something wrong with the tear gland. Whether or not a dog is eating and playing normally is more of an indication of illness, than a wet or dry nose.

Is it bad if your dogs nose is dry?

People have said dogs are usually healthy when their noses are always wet. A dog might not often lick its nose when it feels bad or it is stressed.

What does it means when a dogs nose is hard and dry?

this could mean 1 of 2 things... your dog is either sick or this is just a natural effect. i would personally see if the dog's conditions improve. if not, see the veterenarian

What is it mean when a dogs nose is dry?

It means the dog's nose is dry. There are a number of urban myths and old wife's tales that relate the condition of a dog's nose to its general health - all of them are false.

What does it mean when a dogs nose is warm?

If a dog has a warm or a wet nose, that does not necessarily mean that it is sick. This is a common fallacy. Many people believe that a dog's nose should always be cold and wet. However, a dog's nose does not always have to be cold and wet. After resting, sleeping, or just lying around the house being lazy all day, a dog's nose is often warm and dry. This is especially true if the dog has not recently licked or used his nose for anything. If the dog's nose is constantly warm and dry, this may indicate that something may not be right with its nose and you should consider taking the dog into a vet for evaluation. A vet will be able to determine if the dog's warm dry nose is normal or not. Generally, a dog with a warm, dry nose is not a sick dog.
