Yes you need to at least replace the one that is broken and check out the other one and see that it might need to be replaced!

Well no easy way to say this.... Fuel filter is in the tank and the fuel pump and filter is one unit!! Messed up I know but that's where it is. Drop the tank by removing the strap bolts, pump goes in through the top of the tank. Good luck! Starting price for a pump is around $200
Door check stop failure is not uncommon on this vehicle. The spring breaks and the unit must be replaced. An after market door stop is about $30 from FCP Groton, a little less from IPD. Genuine Volvo part is about $55 from the dealer. Replacing the part is not difficult.
My buddy did the same thing. It was a ground strap from firewall/frame to the engine had broke when he lowered the engine to remove the top bolts. I have seen the ground strap go from frame to one of the bellhousing bolts. Check the wires at the coil too-they may of come off/loose when you lowered the engine or reached behind it.
1 is in the tank. The other is right next to the tank, under the mounting strap bolt.

disconnect the neg. battery cable and then get under the or you can take the driver front tire off to make it a little easier to acess, there are 3 bolts that hold it on becarefull when removint the wire's and remember where the ground strap was bolted to. usually the bottom bolt. And also pay attension to the shim to make surer you put it back on the right way or the starter will not engage properly.
