You don't. You are way too young to deal with such an older guy. At your age you should hang out with someone your own age. 17 year olds can play too many head games with you at such a young age. They can really screw you up emotionally. Also if this guy wants to date, you RUN. Because he is a loser. The only reason he would date ANY 12 is because an older girl doesn't want him, and that is probably for a good reason.
Don't take this personally. I am sure you are a nice person, but think about it, do you ever see any normal teenage people dating someone that is 5 years older on TV? The answer is no because 5 years difference in age is HUGE for someone your age and a 17 year old.

∙ 13y agoTalk to her and find a common interest. Make friends with her first, then ask her, "Hey, I've been crushing on you for _____ (add how long) do you want to become more than friends?" Also, ALWAYS try and reassure her that it's OK if she says no.
