Each platter on a hard drive has 2 heads.

Every Additional Platter you can multiply x2

Example:

1 Platter x 2 = 2 Heads

2 Platters x 2 = 4 Heads

3 Platters x 2 = 6 Heads

4 Platters x 2 = 8 Heads

5 Platters x 2 = 10 Heads

ETC...

At least until some new hard drive Architecture comes into place.
