Perhaps the question is directed at the application of a thin film of diamond that coats the substrate ("base material") of some semiconductor (or solid state) components. Diamond, an allotrope of carbon, has a high thermal conductivity. Heat moves through diamond like a rocket compared to other stuff like aluminum or copper. That's called thermal conductivity. A laser can be used in a special carbon rich atmosphere to cause a diamond film to "plate out" and "coat" a surface. On a finished product, the diamond-coated surface now conducts heat away from sensitive or highly heat loaded components quickly so it can be radiated away from the spacecraft. (Remember that there is no convection cooling in space!)
Volcanic glass forms when molten material cools too quickly for crystals to form. The small size of volcanic ash particles ensures that the cool quickly.

They grade blasting sand based on its overall ability to remove material. Larger, more coarse material can quickly remove a surface but may also damage the under layers.
Viruses can reproduce very quickly. When reproducing they enter a living cell and they inject their genetic material.
Diamond is an allotrope of carbon, a mineral found in the earth. It is used -- about 75% of the time -- for industrial purposes, as below. Some saws are tipped with diamond to allow them to quickly cut through any tough material, since diamond is the hardest mineral known. The remaining percentage of diamonds are considered gem stones.
A furuncle usually starts as a red, tender lump that quickly fills with pus, enlarging and hurting until it ruptures and drains.

The objective is not to cut the diamond quickly, the objective is to cut the diamond in order to follow the plan for the cut. The plan is designed to maximize the natural assets of the stone, such as its colour and/or clarity, while preserving its maximum carat weight. Recklessly, however, you may be able to cut through a diamond rather quickly with an appropriately equipped tool.

THE DIAMOND, IT MELTS AT 6416 DEGREES' FAHRENHEIT!Though technically, it doesn't melt. At this temperature (in air), diamonds ignite and quickly the carbon quickly burns up, oxidized to form CO2. The diamond is essentially vaporized.
If someone has a infectious disease, and it spreads quickly, then that disease is considered epidemic.
