they are difficult to establish and regenerate because the trees are so tall and it will take them ages to grow that high again
trees quickly grow back in its place from that gap other trees quickly grow to fill in the gap! *PLATO USERS
it has silky skin and can 'regenerate quickly:-)
The region around the equator is the tropics (both north and south), so any rainforest around the equator which is in the tropics is a tropical rainforest. A rainforest can exist (and does exist) outside the tropics. The Pacific Northwest, for example, has the Hoh rainforest. A "tropical rainforest" is typically hot year round with little temperature change from month to month. Tropical rainforests are near the equator because the climate there is warm, very wet and constant due to the position of the sun over the equator; it's always directly overhead. The plants that live there thrive in these conditions. There are only two seasons in the tropical rainforests: wet season and dry season. The rainforests are so wet because whenever it rains, the water collects on the big leaves of the trees and evaporates quickly, forms into clouds and rains down again.
The layers of rainforest are connected by vines and ferns, so its leaves get more sunlight. The leaves of rainforest trees have adapted to cope with the large amount of rain. The leaves are big, thick and waxy, and have drip tips to let the rain drain off quickly.
When humans cut down a rainforest, there are no longer trees to hold the soil in place. Therefor, the heavy and common rains wash away the soil, and cause erosion. This creates a barren wasteland. Naturally, an occasional forest fire will destroy a part of the rainforest, and, over time, it will slowly regenerate. However, that takes time and thus if we continue to eliminate rainforests as quickly as we currently do, the jungles could vanish before they have time to repair.
Obviously. We have cells that can only regenerate so quickly...
The soil is poor as nutrients are quickly recycled and not retained. The soil is also poor because heavy rain washes minerals away. The forest floor is very dark, which limits plant growth.
The drip tips act as a tunnel directing water downwards. They have adapted to cope with high rainfall. It is thought that these drip tips allow rain drops to run off quickly. Plants need to shed water to avoid growth of fungus and bacteria in the warm, wet tropical rainforest.
they grow quickly because of the need for sunlight, that is why there are so many tall trees in the rainforest because they all want to reach the sun, the plants and trees are specially adapted to livng in the rainforest, and thy have butress roots to support them hile they grow.
The main natural disasters that happen at the Deciduous Forest is fires and floods. Fires occur due to lightning and spread fairly quickly due to all the trees.
heat.
