Usually it is the last will made that is valid. However, there is such a thing as "undue influence".
In other words, if someone made a will, then changed or updated it at the age of 45, then that last will should be the one followed.
But if someone had a will for decades, in which his children were to get the money and property, then, at the age of 85, he all of a sudden changes it so that it all goes to his 21 year old female nurse, then it will probably be contested.
