The answer is no.
Bringing in the snake after being bitten is a common mistake victims often do,
and many unreliable websites and some other articles on this website say to do so.
Doctors are able to recognize the venom in your blood or wound.
If someone got bitten by a venomous snake, another pioneer would take a knife and cut an "x" at the bite location. They would then suck out the blood and hopefully the poison. Sometimes this worked and sometimes this didn't.If it didn't work the victim would most likely die. If they happen to be lucky enough to survive, the body part that was bitten would normally have to be amputated. If they were bitten on their core, death was almost certain.
It depends on the type of snake. The majority of snakes are not venomous and a bite would not be life-threatening to a cat. A few are venomous and their bites can be life-threatening. If your cat is bitten and the snake is not venomous or you are not sure, take it to the vet immediately.
The story that a snake in Viet Nam (or Libya according to my husband) is so poisonous that you will only take two steps after being bitten has been circulating for years. Whether it's two steps or ten it mainly designates that the snake is deadly...there is no specific snake or country...
The Black Mamba is known by the Kalahari tribes as the Five-Step Snake as if you are bitten, you will take no more than five steps before you die.
sea snakes have extremely potent venom and a human, if bitten, (this is highly unlikely, as sea snakes are extremely unagressive) would most likely be dead within 10 minutes without proper medical care

It depends on the species of rattlesnake, where on the body you were bitten and how soon you receive proper medical treatment. Without proper treatment it would take a day or more to die. If the bite is from a species with a particularly strong venom, especially containing neurotoxins, death may come quite quickly.
