Red hair is more likely because although it is a recessive gene (you need one from both the father and mother to get that trait), because both parents ar obvisiously carring it, the newborn would have a greater chance of getting the gene than a baby that has parents with any other color hair. There is a "myth" that red hair skips every other generation, but that is not true.

There is a high probability that their hair would be red but depending on the dormant genes it could be different.

Either or possibly neither. I new a girl who had bright orange hair while the rest of her family had darkish blonde. But they both sound like nice colours.

Your hair as a child blonde now mousy with dark blue eyes husband as child red hair now sandy brown with blue eyes what colour hair will baby have?

The child could have almost any hair color. It all depends on the past history of the family. Hair color is determined by 2 polygenes. One that is Blonde or Brown. The other is Red or not red. The father has a brown allele present, which is dominant to blond. Blond and red are both recessive hair colors, so the likelihood of the child having either is lower to begin with. Because of the father's brown allele there's a 50% chance of the child having darker hair, and depending on the allele that the mother possesses, there's either a 50% or a 0% chance of the child having red hair. So there could be a 50% chance of the child being blond, a 50% chance of the child being dark haired, and depending on the mother's allele a 50% chance of being a darker red haired individual. Hopefully you can make sense of that.

If the mother has blond hair and the father has red hair what color hair will the baby have?

Possible colors: blond, brown, red, auburn

Dark hair parents light hair child how is this possible?

Everyone has at least two genes for hair color, but brown is dominant. If both parents have Brown-Blond genes, then they will have brown hair (because it is dominant over blond), but the child could get one blond gene from each parent and thus be Blond-Blond, and thus be blond.

From which parent does the hair gene come?

Genes come from both parents and are molded together to make a unique person. To make a long answer short, the color of your hair doesn't "come from" one parent or the other; there is a fifty-fifty chance that you have the same color hair as your mother or your father. In fact, the odds might be different depending on whether one of your parents has a dominant hair color gene in the family. For instance, say your mother's side of the family is all blond, especially both of her parents; this probably means that her genes are dominantly blond. If your father's side of the family has some scattered brunettes and redheads, then his hair probably isn't dominant. If one of your parents has a dominant hair color, then it is more likely that you will have that one, too. Also, some genes can skip generations through chance, which might explain why a child has the same color hair as her grandmother, but not her mother.

What color will be twins eyes if the mother have brown and the father have green?

The genetics of eye color are more complex than previously thought. Almost any parent-child combination of eye colors can occur.

Does the mother or father pass on the color blind trait?

It depends. If the child is male, the person to pass the trait on must be the mother. She may be a hybrid or color-blind herself for her to be capable of doing this. If the child is female, the father must be color-blind in addition to the mother being a carrier. Both have to donate the recessive gene to their daughter.

If red is the dominant hair color but the father has brown hair and the mother has red hair and the hair color of the father is dominant then what color will the hair of their child be?

It's very hard to answer this question as there are no details on what alleles the fathers or mothers DNA contains. The father has to have an allele for red hair for the child to have a chance of having it. Presuming that the father has a brown and red hair allele and the mother has the same it works out like this. Brown + Brown = Brown Brown + Red = Brown (Because it's dominant) Brown + Red (from other parents) = Brown (Because brown is dominant) Red + Red = Red The chances of brown therefore is 3:1 as you cannot be sure on what the child will receive. MORE like 5-1 his here will be blond
