If you hold an Irish passport, then the answer is no. However, you are likely to be asked for photo ID or proof of nationality so the most obvious document to bring is your passport. Whenever you are travelling to another country, bring your passport.
It is nothing to do with your body. The Irish people have come from a wide range of other people, like the Vikings and the Celts, so you cannot determine Irishness, or indeed any nationality, through a body. If you were born in Ireland and grew up there and lived there, then you are Irish. If your parents are Irish and you were born in another country, then it is your parents, not you, that is Irish, even though you would be entitled to an Irish passport. You have Irish ancestors, but you are not Irish. Your body will not tell you what you are.
Only Irish and UK citizens can travel without a passport between the 2 countries
that would depend on if your parents are Irish, though I'd think you'd be an Irish citizen even if your parents weren't

I do have Irish nationality but it's not because my parents are Irish. I was born in Co. Mayo in 1997 and at the time if you were born in Ireland you get Irish nationality. That's changed now though.
Technically, it would make you a British citizen. As for example, both parents are of an African origin- Ghana. Therefore, you would classify yourself as an African. You r parents would be Ghanaian, and British, which is of dual nationality; if they were born there and immigrated to Great Britain. If you were to have both a British passport and a Ghanaian one, you would be of dual nationality too. You would then classify yourself as a British Citizen, with a Ghanaian background.
If you are an Irish or British citizen photographic ID will do, including a driving license. As a general rule, always use a passport for travelling.
