There are lots of quotes in the Christian Bible indicating the Christian God (and his followers) believes in himself and several other gods (See Link). This would make him a Theist not an Atheist.

If you believe humans came from monkeys does that make you an atheist?

You are not necessarily an atheist. People who read the Bible literally believe that God started us as humans and made us in his image so we were not monkeys. However, it is also possible to believe that God caused evolution which changed us from apes into the species we are today. Belief and religion should not be limited by one aspect of them. If you have faith you are not an atheist.

Can you be an atheist if your parents are Christian?

Of course you can be an atheist if your parents are Christian. You can also be an atheist even if they had you baptised according to their beliefs, and you need not do any more. Whether or not you are an atheist depends on what you genuinely believe and genuinely do not believe, so no ritual or convention can change that. Your beliefs are a personal matter, so it is a personal choice for you whether you wish to tell your parents that you are an atheist. If you feel that this would hurt them, you can delay this until a better time. Atheism does not require anyone to tell others about what they believe or do not believe. However you may feel more comfortable by telling other people whom you feel should know that you are an atheist.

Can you believe in the devil and still call yourself an atheist?

"The Devil" is an imaginary, supernatural being- a religious construction originally based on a fallen angel. An atheist does not believe in supernatural gods or other beings. It would be highly unusual to find someone who calls him/herself a true atheist, but also believes that "the Devil" exists.

If you don't believe in god are you satinist?

no, you are an atheist. You are also very mature since only children believe in fairies, gods, dragons, and other make-believe things. Besides, if you are a "satinist" you believe in satin, which is a woven fabric.

How can you believe that there are Hindu gods?

This question can be asked from all theists, Jews, christians, and Muslims. But it is not necessary that a Hindu should believe in Gods and Goddesses. There are philosophies in Hinduism which are atheist, for example, Samkhya and Vaisesika. Advaita also can be an atheist philosophy. I am an atheist advaitist Hindu.

What does athious mean?

Does being Atheist mean you do not believe in God?

An Atheist is one who does not believe or denies the existence of any God or gods. This includes ancient and modern gods, the Easter Bunny, the Flying Spaghetti Monster and other supernatural beings. Atheists also do not believe in any immortal soul, afterlife, reincarnation, past lives, heaven, hell, angels, demons, salvation, damnation. Which god? If you refer to the Christian God (Yahweh), then being atheist means that you don't believe in *one more* god than Christians. Christians don't believe in Zeus, Horus (even though the stories are so similar), Ba-al, Thor, and a whole host of other gods. When Christians understand why atheists don't believe in *those* gods, they can usually also understand why atheists don't believe in the Christian god. The arguments are exactly the same, after all.

What is the best reason you should believe in the Bible?

Opinion Of course, a lot depends on what you mean by "believe in the Bible". Parts of the Bible are supposed to be historical. Some of the things that are said are supported by other historical evidence, which would be a good reason to believe what is said in the Bible. Other parts are contradicted by other historical evidence which would be a good reason not to believe those parts. Parts of the Bible dictate laws and codes of behaviour. In those cases if "believing in the Bible" means accepting those laws and codes of behaviour you would have to do it because you not only think that those codes are set by God but that they can never change no matter how much society changes. That's kind of tricky for Christians who also have to believe the parts of the Bible which say that other parts of the Bible (the Kosher laws) somehow no longer apply. On the other hand some of the rules about human behaviour (The Ten Commandments, Proverbs, the moral lessons in Jesus' parables) correspond with good sense which is a good reason to believe in them. Basically The Bible is a long and complicated work and it would be ridiculous to think that the whole thing can be justified with one simplistic argument.

Does Robert m price believe in God?

Dr. Robert M. Price is an "atheist," or as he more recently stated, a "Christian non-theist," and the definition of the latter term should be a separate WikiAnswer. In his book The Case Against the Case for Christ, "Introduction: My Own Investigation", p. 9, published by American Atheist Press, he states that he ended up where Rev. Lee Strobel began, an atheist skeptic. He has also discussed this many times in his podcast The Bible Geek Show and on his Web site.

Do Mormons believe the Bible is the Word of God?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) do believe the Bible is the Word of God, and members are encouraged to study it daily. One of their articles of faith states "We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God." The official English Bible of the Church is the King James Version. You can access the Church-published King James Version Bible (as well as the Book of Mormon and other works considered scripture by the Church) at the "Related Link" below. You can also read transcripts of sermons delivered recenly by Church officials regarding the Bible.
