If i tried to format or delete some data from the USB drive it gives the message USB is wrtite protected whereas there is no such switch exists on the USB?

It is possible that the flash device has exhausted the limited number of over writes that are part of the flash card design. At some point it stops being Read/Write and becomes Read only. The number of R/W cycles may be reduced if the device is removed without being shut down by the software (normally by clicking of the 'Eject' option) properly.
There is not much to do except get a new device.

Probably a bug in browser. Delete all Cookie and Session Data using Clear History and then restart your browser and server. It would be better to restart the whole PC after cleaning browser data
