So long as the temperature of the engine is OK and you make sure that the reservoir is at approximately the right level it is fine to drive the car. If your cooling system is leaking I would have it fixed however before it gets too bad.
The smell of antifreeze is very strong and distinct, it does not take much of a leak to smell it. The radiator could still be full and have a small leak. I would check for antifreeze dripping onto the exhaust or on the engine block because when it is hot the smell is much more noticeable from the fumes.
Yes, however, not recommended Your engine still needs coolant, hot or freezing outside.
yes and if it is frosty and the water is left dripping you can also get ice forming in your drains.
in 1994 they still used the green antifreeze.
Because there is antifreeze int he system and it takes a while to burn through. Also replace the bottom hose too. <> If it smokes from under the hood, It has antifreeze on the engine exterior, You can wash it off. Or just drive it and it will burn off. If it smokes from the exhaust, There is engine damage.
The type of car antifreeze that is safest to the environment is propylene glycol antifreeze. While it is still not totally safe, it is less toxic than other antifreeze.
there is no water mixed with the oil but have antifreeze coming out of the exhaust
no
In vehicles that call for it, yes.
If it's been in a sealed container, it's still good.
.... no.. antifreeze will kill you.. so anyone who drank Dr. Pepper would die and my friend drinks it all the time and she is still alive..
