If my goldfish is swimming upside down does it really mean that he is australian?
If your goldfish is swimming upside down, that probably means it has swimbladder disease or something of the sort. To cure this, I suggest you feed your upside-down swimming goldfish the insides of boiled peas. I never tried it myself, but on the internet I saw the story of a person who fed his upside-down swimming goldfish some peas and the next day it was swimming normally! Try it! It will cure constipation too. But… Read More

If by Dragon fish you mean Arowana then, no it is not normal for one to be swimming upside down. They grow into really big fish (over 40 inches long) so I hope you have a really big tank more than 8 feet long to house it in.

It may like it. I've seen fish that look like they ARE upsidedown but they aren't mabey it could be one of them. I don't really know why it's swimming like that but if there are more fish in the same tank/bowl it may be playing with or trying to impress them them or may be just boared. But he won't rember it though (their memory is like, mabey three seconds short!)!
im not sure but my goldfish turns upside down and is pretty much dead but still breathing but hes got worms
An upside down goldfish means it has a swim bladder disease. If that disease is detected on your goldfish early, it is treatable with isolation and medicated food. But if the disease is detected too late, the results are irreversible-it is a deadly disease.

Some ways you can tell that your goldfish is sick are that it might start swimming slowly, upside down, sideways and around in circles. Its colour might get patchy or blotchy and its eyes might look cloudy and close a little bit. It might also go to a corner of the tank and just sit there for long periods of time.
IT LOOKS LIKE AN UPSIDE DOWN FISH
If you mean they are upside down, then they could be dead...
If its upside down in its tank and isn't moving on its own
If your fish cannot swim upright, is swimming on its side or upside down, it most likely has a swim bladder problem.
Stop doing a handstand. If your goldfish is floating, it will float to the top, not the bottom, therefore, you must be upside down!
it closes its eyes ( goldfish don't have eyelids, they never close their eyes). The fish will usually float to the top upside down)
If it isn't moving when you poke at it, then it is dead.
not all the time i had a fish that did that and was fine.

If your fish is upside down, chances are that it has a swim bladder problem - you should research things to try, but it cannot always be cured.
Your Goldfish probably has a problem with its swim bladder. It's may be what the goldfish is being fed that is causing the problem. There is not normally enough fibre in the food we feed our Goldfish. This can lead to constipation and pressure on the swimbladder, which is the organ that keeps the fish buoyant and upright. The fish floats upside down because of the pressure on the swim bladder. Frozen peas are the… Read More

No, if your fantail goldfish is swimming upside down is because you've been feeding too much food or you've been feeding too much. It has swimming bladder problems. Don't feed your fish the next two days. After that, buy some peas...take the skin of the peas off and cut the rest into tiny pieces and feed them to your fish. It is also a question of making sure that your fish have enough fiber in… Read More
Goldfish as with most fish have a swim bladder, this helps keep them the right way up, sometimes this can get get an infection or other ailment which causes it to stop working, a common cause is over feeding.
Well, if you see a fish upside down, it usually means that it's dead. I only have 1 other cause: it could have just gotten there by accident. If it has trouble getting right side up again, help it by just taking the goldfish out, turning it right side up again and putting back in the water.
When the flag is flown or placed upside down, this is a signal of distress. For this reason, it should not be flown in this position at any other time.
They descend over a mile underwater to feed, swimming most of the way upside-down!
Turn the pool upside-down and knock on the bottom.
The upside down peace sign means "Death." A peace sign is really supposed to be a dove's foot. If it is upside down, it means that it is dead. As in, "Death," like I said before.
If you mean a Koi is constantly swimming upside down then the fish has a damaged swim bladder and is very sick. It will probably die if you can't get some proper treatment for it.
All living things sleep or do rest in some way. Goldfish however can't close there eyes and they will just be laying on the bottom of the tank. You have no need to worry if it's dead unless it is laying upside down. Fish don't really sleep. They just kind of rest by floating in the water, staying quite still. Amazingly, NO :) they rest in the tanks. how they do that? They slow down… Read More

Well yes that is a hard thing to find out because fish don't have eyelids but if a goldfish is upside down or sideways or just sinks to the bottom its dead but if it just pausesit just means its taking a little snooze!
I'm not sure, but, I had 2 gold fish die recently for no apparent reason. Am wondering if the upside down cat fish hurt them in any way. He always chases them around & they act frightened by the cat fish.
Only when they drive really fast submarines... Actually, fish have what is called a swim bladder; this is what helps them with buoyancy, and to stay upright in water. When there is a problem with their swim bladder (or they are constipated!) they will have buoyancy problems, and in many cases, get stuck swimming upside-down.
