Though I don't think those numbers are quite right, most of the energy created by the plant is used to help it survive. This means as food for the plant, to help carry out cell respiration, to protect it from disease, to make it grow, to help carry out photosynthesis, and many other things.

What is the original source of energy in firewood?

The original source of the energy in any combustible plant material is from the sun.

Why does energy stored in deformed material in only its elastic portion?

The "elastic portion" is precisely the part where the material returns to its original shape, and thus returns its energy. Once the material does NOT return to its previous shape, it doesn't exert a force back to the original position, and there is no way to get the energy back.

What happened to the average kinetic energy of the molecules in the material.?

It decreased, due to entropy.

How do you convert elastic energy into electricity energy?

Elasticity is the ability of a material to return to its original shape after being deformed. It is not a form of energy. Mechanical energy is needed to deform the material which stores this partially as potential (mechanical) energy, some is transformed to heat energy, which dissipates, and some is lost to entropy, as in all energy conversions. When the potential (mechanical) energy is released it can be used to drive an electrical generator to produce electricity, until the material returns to its original shape.

What kind of energy do calories produce?

Calories don't "produce" energy; calories are a UNIT OF ENERGY.

What is the Heat of vaporization turns a liquid to a gas?

The heat of vaporization is the amount of Thermal Energy (e.g., calories/gram) that must be added to make a material at its boiling point turn into vapor. This number of calories per gram is different for every material.

How does calories relate to the amount of energy in the food?

more calories more energy

What are calories measuring?

The amount of energy that you can get from that food. We get our energy from calories. And when we burn energy, we burn calories. So, we measure calories to see how much energy we will get from that particular food. This tells us how much of that food we should eat, compared to how much energy we expend.

How many calories of energy per gram does the body supply fat?

9 calories of energy per gram. 9 calories of energy per gram.

The energy stored in food is measured in units called?

Calories. Actually the unit called Calorie in food energy is the Kilocalorie, ie 1000 calories.

How long does it take to turn calories into energy?

Calories are a unit of energy. They cannot be changed to energy because they already are.

Can you burn calories faster than fat?

Calories are a measure of energy, fat contains energy (calories). Therefore your question is nonsense.
