It could mean that there is something in his marriage that he is ashamed of or that his wife is extremely beautiful and he does on want other men to view her. This reason would of course work if most or all of his friends on facebook is male friends however if they are female friends that the wife is not familar with and he is not open about then obviously there is a lot of problems in the marriage. Men tend to deny problems as they do not usually want like to deal with the yelling that occurs among other things.
