If the earth spins at 1000mph and planes travel at 500mph how do they reach their destination?

We are moving 1000mph with the earth, but we just usually act as though we aren't moving at all, because we don't feel it. When we walk at 1 mph aside from the movement from the rotation of the earth, we still get places. Also, when we jump, we don't suddenly stop moving, while the earth keeps rotating. We continue to move with the earth's rotation, because of inertia, which holds our momentum, when there is nothing stopping our movement.
