The ignition switch in my wife's 98 accord went bad a few month ago. The car would randomly shut off while driving, then it wouldn't start back up for another 15 mins or so. It would crank, but not start.
It's an automatic. To diagnose that the ignition switch was bad, I had the car in gear (D), turned the key to the "start" position. The car is not going to start until I put it into neutral or park. Then I'd slip the leaver into neutral, the motor would crank and start up, then I'd slip the leaver back into Drive (so the starter motor would stop).
could be fuel pump, bad fuel filter, or ignition module.
engine seized, starter not working, ignition switch, chek fuses ALL!
Dead battery, loose battery connections, bad engine ground connections, bad starter connections, bad starter, broken ring gear, bad ignition switch
Avoid the crank sensor?
maybe how old
The crank angle sensor is located in the distributor.only in the 94 and 95 Honda accord.
A crank shaft position sensor on a 1998 Honda Accord reads whether or not a the engine is spinning correctly. If there is a discrepancy on how the crankshaft is spinning the sensor will relay it to the ECU.
In the hood by the oil filter.
Be sure it is in park or neutral.
It was a worn out ignition switch on my 91 Civic
In the bottom of the distributor under coil.
Defective ignition switch.
