No most fans run off a sensor and thermostat when your motor gets hot the sensor turns on the fan or if there is a load on the motor the fan will come on.Other than you cannot turn your ignition on because of the worn tumbler.
You will have poor or no ignition.
Check the fan clutch, it may not be working properly.
Low coolant?Cooling fan not working?Radiator air flow restricted?Radiator clogged?Water pump not working properly?Radiator cap defective?
Thermostat messed up, Oil needs to be changed, no antifreeze in the radiator, radiator fan is not working properly
Low coolant Water pump not working properly Cooling fan not working Thermostat not opening fully Radiator plugged or dirty Check the radiator fan.
When your car is at idle there is no air flow to cool the radiator, but when your car moves the air flow through the radiator cools it down. I would suspect the radiator fan is not coming on when it should. If the fan is working properly the engine temperature should stay fairly constant assuming the thermostat is also working properly.
No , the engine coolant will start flowing through the radiator when the engine coolant thermostat starts to open ( assuming everything is working properly ) Helpfull
A simple test to know if the car computer is working.?æ Identify your sensor and turn on the ignition to see if the sensor confirms the car's computer.
Go down the list that will help. # Insufficien coolant in system # Driveblet defective or not adjusted properly # Radiator core blocked or radiator grille dirty and restricted # Thermostat faulty # Fan not functioning properly # Radiator cap not maintaining proper pressure # Ignition timing incorrect # Defective water pump # Improper grade of engine oil # Inaccurate temperature gauge Check to make sure that the electric radiator fan is working. The fan relays tend to fail. The relay is located under the bumper cover, under the right front headlight.
Not hard. Take the radiator cap off and crank it up and let it run until it gets to operating temp. You should be able to see the coolant moving inside the radiator. if it is, it's working.
If you have replaced the water pump then flush the radiator with CLR also check to see if the fan is working properly.
Low coolant level? Thermostat not opening? Radiator plugged? Defective radiator cap? Water pump not circulating coolant? System airbound? Collapsed radiator hose? Timing not adjusted properly (too far advanced)? Head gasket? Gauge not working properly? Temperature sending unit?
