It happens and is called eclipse. The moon can never cover all of the earth in its shade however, so the eclipse will only be total in a small area on the earth's surface. A large area around it will just be dark.
The effects of an eclipse can only be noticed in areas where it is strong enough. Generally it is no different from a normal night, only it occurs during daytime. In other places it may only seem like a cloud is hanging in the sky.
This is a solar eclipse. From Earth it would look as if the Sun is being blocked out by the Moon.
The awesom hot sun
If the moon was on the left and the sun was on the right, it would suggest that the moon is in its waxing phase moving towards a full moon. This positioning is a natural occurrence based on the moon's orbit around the Earth and the Earth's orbit around the sun.
the photosphere appears black when it is blocked out by the moon during a eclipse
Earth would blow up along with the moon.
In a solar eclipse, the moon comes between the sun and the earth so that the sun is blocked out. A lunar eclipse is when the earth comes in between the moon and the sun so that the moon is blocked out.
They are alike because they both cast shadows. A lunar eclipse is when the moon is blocked by the sun while a solar eclipse is when the sun is blocked by the moon.
the proportion of the earth and the moon would be much different, and the moon would then revolve on its own around the sun.
burn up
we would die
you cannot see the mon because it is covering the sun and the sun is helping the moon
The Sun and moon will never meet
