Sounds like the alternator is gone.
Starter lockout relay, next to the battery.
Remove the positive battery cable from your 2001 Nissan battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
The starter relay can be found underneath the hood on a 1991 Nissan pickup. The starter relay is beside the battery on the passenger side.

The starter is located beneath the throttle body. Remove the intake tube, then the starter bolts can be removed and the starter replaced.
Follow your positive wire from battery and it should take you to the starter that is hooked to the transmission.
first disconnect your battery cables.u have 2 wires,1 to the positive battery cable and the other has a female fitting,just un plug that one and the positive cable takes a 10 mm wrench, then u have 2 bolts holding the starter on ,use a12 mm wrench to take starter off.

If it won't turn over then suspect the starter. Check for power at the starter itself.
Take the steering column housing off (usually held by 4 screws from the bottom) and remove the starter cap from the back of the ignition cylinder. In a Nissan, the ignition cylinder usually has a T shaped pin which turns the starter. if you can start your vehicle by turning the starter cap with a screw driver, you probably don't have an issue with the starter.
