Because the use of blood blood has been specifically prohibited in scripture while the transplant of organs has not. Acts chapter 15 verse 28 and 29 : "abstain from blood" (also see-Acts 15:19, 20, 28, 29; compare Genesis 9:3, 4; Leviticus 17:10-14.)

High blood pressure and some panic problems. You could die of problems after heart transplants.
If your doctor told you that you would die if you consumed (ate or drank) alcohol, would you assume it would be acceptable to transfuse it into your veins instead?
Because the bible says in Act 15 ''to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood'' The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, as the representative of the 'faithful and discreet slave', have determined, based on their current understanding of Acts 15, that Witnesses are not allowed transfusions of whole blood, red cells, white cells, plasma or platelets. They are allowed transfusions of all of the component parts of these components. The Watchtower 15/2/2009 p27 says 'Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the 'faithful and discreet slave', should we not do the same?'
It's not acceptable.

Jehovah's Witnesses dont feel that the Bible comments directly on organ transplants; therefore, decisions regarding cornea, kidney, heart or other tissue transplants must be made by the individual Witness. Whatever their decision, no blood can be used before, during or after the surgery. Persons have had successful heart transplants and recovered more quickly that those who have accepted blood or blood products during their surgery. Look up 'Transplant Magazine' on the Internet.
I am assuming the question is refurring to the Watchtower's position on blood transfusions, and organ and bone marrow transplants. This is because certain verses (e.g. Acts 15:29 and 20:25) have been taken out of context. Originally the Watchtower's outlining on blood transfusions was no tolerance, backed up by such verses as the ones mention above. In more recent years the Watchtower has had to change their position on transfusions because of growing "concerns" within the JW community. Unfortunately this doctrine hasn't been completely disregarded, because of it historical atrocities there is fear a reneging on this doctrine could lead to severe repercussion such as mass suing. If only JW's understand the meaning of the event of Matt 12:9-12 (this event appears in every Gospel) and release that righteousness isn't reached/gained through the law (Galations 2:21).
