True or false if the wavelength of a given wave decreases you know that its frequency will stay the same?

False.

If the wave length of a given wave decreases what will its frequency do?

the equation relating wavelength and frequency is : c=n*l ; where n=frequency; l=wavelength; c=velocity of light in vacuum. Now, we know that c is constant always. So, if any one between n and l changes, the other also has to change accordingly so that there product, 'c', remains same, i.e. 3 * 108. Thus, if wavelength of a given wave decreases then its frequency gets increased to bring the product of the new wavelength and new frequency again to 3*108.

How is frequency related to wavelength for a given wave?

(frequency) multiplied by (wavelength) = (speed of the wave)

What does the wave length of an EM wave tell about its energy?

Longer wavelength less energy and shorter wavelength equals more energy. This is because velocity (speed)=frequency x wavelength. And te velocity of all EM waves is the speed of light. we know the expression- frequency=speed of light(c)/wavelength Energy is given by- E=h*frequency=h*c/wavelength {h=Planck's constant} so,energy is directly proportional to frequency and inversly proportional to wavelength...that is energy increases with increase in frequency and decreases with increase in wavelength. example:-red color has more wavelength and hence has less energy.

As the speed of a particle increases does its associated wavelength increase or decrease?

The wavelength of waves travelling with the same speed would decrease if the frequency of the waves increases. This is because, speed of a wave is the product of the distance of the wavelength times the frequency of the wave. The velocity of a wave is usually constant in a given medium.

Is true of the relationship between frequency and wavelength?

a shorter wavelength means higher frequency at a given speed.

What is the true relationship between frequency and wavelength?

a shorter wavelength means higher frequency at a given speed.

What is the true of the relationship between frequency and wavelength?

a shorter wavelength means higher frequency at a given speed.

What is the frequency when wavelength is 566nm?

Frequency = Speed/Wavelength. Since the speed is not specified, a proper answer cannot be given.

How do you calculate frequency when given a half wavelength?

Frequency (f)=Speed of the wave(v)/wavelength l

What is the relationship wavelength and frequency?

Frequency is the number of wavelenghts passing though a given point in one second. Wavelength is the distance between two crest or troughs. The relationship between wavelenght and frequency is given by f = 1/wavelength. where f = frequency

How is frequency related to velocity?

the velocity of a wave is given by frequency*its wavelength
