It is on the end of the engine facing the radiator. 2 bolts to take off. 1 is from the hose coming off the top radiator hose and the other is a heater hose. on my jeep Laredo the bottom nut is hard to get off because the belt is in the way. . try replacing the crankposition sensor my 89 did the same thing and that is what fixed it for me.
the water pump is right behind the radiator and is belt driven. Also try to check the coolant reservoir by having it pressure tested
i have an 89 and mine did the same thing try replacing the crank position sensor.
It should fit but, the crank position sensor produces a signal by referring to the flex plate. In 1991 Jeep went to a Chrysler fuel injection system and the windows that the crank sensor reads are different. So in other words it should bolt up but then it will not start.
The 1991 Pontiac Grand Am radiator drain plug can be found on the bottom of the radiator. The radiator drain plug will be in the center of the radiator bottom.
It is on the front of the engine,it has the fan for the radiator on it.
