In the USA, for EEO forms where they ask your race, you can check the box Asian. For genealogical uses, you are 25% Asian and 75% European.
Basically, in the US you can classify yourself into either race, or both, depending on what you want and will benefit from under the specific curcumstances.
The people who think there really are separate races are unable to deal effectively with the increasing numbers of those who clearly have their heritage from more than one large skin color grouping of the Human Species.
